Nallur village is situated at a distance of about 5 kms from Chikmagalur along Mudigere road .The population of the village and growth rate is indicated above. The population of the village is 702 as per census 2001.Hence seeing the growth rate from 1961 to 2001, there is an increase from 1961 to 1991.But the growth rate has increased more from 1971 to 1981 where the growth rate has increased more from 39.82 %to 51.14%but from 1981 to 1991 there is increase of population but the growth rate is less compared to previous trend. But there was a positive trend. But in 2001 there is a negative trend and the population has also decreased from 895 to 702.From 1991 to 2001 there is a decrease of households from 187            to 158.Since 29   households are reduced there is a decrease of population from 1991 to 2001.

 

The occupation pattern describes the economic status of the village. Seeing the occupation structure of the village it is mainly depended on primary sector that is agricultural labourers .Proportion of agricultural labourers is 68.5%, out of which 65.6% are males and 81.3% are females compared to total population. In work participation ratio, we can find out only male workers are involved in occupation..Hence we can see mainly this village is involved in primary activities and little participation in secondary and terriatiary activities that is 0.4% in house hold industries and 17.5% in territiary activities.

 

From the above table- 19 we can see the sex ratio of the village is 882 which is less compared to the Chikmagalur which is 957.But sex ratio between 0-6 is 708.  

 

Coming to the literacy rate, we can see 97.4 percent of the people are literates compared to the total population. Out of which 97.8% are males and 96.9% are female. Hence in this village importance have been given for female education also.
